It all began with the very first holiday customers in June 2007, and yesterday Jet2holidays celebrated its 10th anniversary at Belfast International Airport with customers and staff….
To mark the occasion, Jet2holidays staff and Belfast International Airport staff cut a specially created cake which was handed out to departing customers.
The celebrations took on added significance as Jet2.com and Jet2holidays also celebrated four route anniversaries from Belfast International Airport.
As well as the 10th anniversary of Jet2holidays launching from the airport, yesterday also marked the 10th anniversary of its Majorca and Ibiza routes, as well as five years since it started operating to Alicante and Faro.
Since launching roughly 800,000 Jet2.com and Jet2holidays customers have flown on these popular routes.
Similar celebrations will be taking place across the company’s other UK bases throughout June, with airports – including Belfast International – challenged to create a celebratory themed cake and Jet2.com and Jet2holidays social media fans voting for the winner.
The popularity of Jet2holidays’ great value package breaks, with award-winning Jet2.com flights, industry leading 22kg baggage allowance and £60 per person deposit has seen Jet2holidays emerge as one of the ‘big three’ with licence to carry 2.27 million customers. Back in 2007 when it launched, this figure was just 23,000.
In 2007, the company operated to 15 destinations whereas today it operates to more than 40 top sun destinations across the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and Europe, with 26 world famous capitals and cultural centres, including winter shopping trips to New York, also available through Jet2CityBreaks which launched in May 2015. The company now sells almost 4,000 hotels ranging from 2-star to exclusive 5-star properties through its ‘Indulgent Escapes’ brand.
Just last week, the company announced its latest new offering, Jet2Villas, a brand new villa offer with hundreds of properties on sale. The new proposition gives customers the freedom of a villa holiday with the benefits of a package holiday.
All Jet2holidays packages include free infant places well as 0 per cent credit and debit card fees. With a UK based call centre, and the option to book online, over the phone or through travel agents, Jet2holidays customers also benefit from 24 hour in-resort service.
