Thomas Cook has announced that it is set to close 39 of it’s retail stores across the UK…

The move comes after the operator closed 28 high street stores between October and December last year.

TITANIC BELFAST SAYS ‘HELLO & WELCOME’ TO WILLIAM HARLAND!

William Harland, aged 13 whose great, great, great, great uncle was owner of the Harland and Wolff Shipyard that built the RMS Titanic, recently travelled to Northern Ireland to visit the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience, Titanic Belfast.

William arrived in Belfast and was greeted by the signature ‘H&W’ yellow cranes, abbreviated for his family’s surname, Harland and Wolff, or as locals joke ‘Hello and Welcome’.

HOLIDAYMAKERS HAPPY FOR AIRLINES TO WEIGH PASSENGERS

After Hawaiian Airlines won the right to weigh its passengers at check in, research has revealed that 61 per cent of British holidaymakers would also welcome these measures…

According to a poll of over 3,500 British holidaymakers, conducted by travel extras specialist HolidayExtras.com, a quarter of people were behind the plans for safety reasons and 15 per cent thought that heavier passengers should be charged extra at check in – a view that is held by almost twice as many men than women.

LOCAL NI CABIN CREW RECEIVE THEIR WINGS

Two young women from Northern Ireland have graduated from Flybe’s most recent cabin crew training Initials programme and have been presented with their  ‘Wings’ by the airline’s new Chief Executive Officer, Christine Ourmieres-Widener, at a special ceremony in Exeter…

Laura Thompson from Portavogie and Kerry Craig from Ballymoney completed the intensive three week training programme in January  and, based out of Belfast City Airport,  are now fully qualified to care for the safety and wellbeing of Flybe passengers  across its extensive network of routes.
