Security is to be stepped up in Christmas markets and other festive events across Europe…



The Foreign Office updated its advice for Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Belgium today, saying they can expect extra security in place over the Christmas and New Year period, including at Christmas markets and other major events that might attract large crowds.

Qatar Airways today announced that Dublin will be one of eight new destinations for 2017-18, in addition to seven previously announced new cities for a total of 15 new gateways…

Joining the Qatar Airways’ route network, which spans more than 150 destinations on six continents around the world, are: Canberra, the airline’s fifth destination in Australia; Dublin, Ireland; Las Vegas, the airline’s 11th destination in the United States; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; Medan, Kualanamu International Airport, the airline’s third destination in Indonesia; and Tabuk and Yanbu, the 9th and 10th destinations in Saudi Arabia.

‘Abysmal’ EU decision kills off Northern Ireland’s New York service – Belfast International Airport

Belfast International Airport has confirmed that the Provinces’ only direct scheduled service to the US has been axed…

The airport said the ruling by the European Commission to block the funding package to protect Northern Ireland’s one and only scheduled trans-Atlantic service “defies logic” and is an example of “abysmal Brussels decision-making.”
